A Little Insight – JP

Hello everyone. My name is John Parker and I am one of the co-authors of the book Gehenna. I’ve been working on my writing for many years. For me, it’s been a cheap form of therapy. That is until I wanted to pursue getting published. Then I realized the cost not just in time but also in money. Thousands of hours and hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. Ten years ago I began a serious effort to seek help in the pursuit of my vision. I’ve worked with several editors and sought input from friends and co-workers. For someone who does not naturally identify as a writer, this required a great effort on my part to continually step outside my comfort zone, not just in work but also in my personal life. As I did this I discovered that my vision alone was limited. To give my grand vision real character and depth I realized I would need to let go of my creative ego and invite outside ideas in. Meaning I knew I would need to find someone to let behind the curtain.

Co-authoring a story is no easy task. Prior to this project, I had been working on my writing, on my own, for about 7 years developing and wrestling with various ideas of my own. One of those ideas was a short story I had named Gehenna. It was about fifty pages long and consisted mostly of a man running from a large machine in the forest. Looking back I kind of laugh about it. My vision was limited. After sharing the story with a co-worker a whole plethora of new and exciting ideas were spawned. We even decided to weave the storyline of Gehenna in with the storyline of yet another writing project I had previously been working on. This other story is titled Aquarium and it currently is a much bigger story. Together we have spawned the creation of quite a large universe that we are dying to show to you, our audience. All of this will take a lot of work and a little bit of time : )

Right now we have laid the groundwork for two maybe even three more books in the Gehenna storyline and I plan on releasing my first five chapters of Aquarium along with some artwork on Patreon for our loving fans to go purchase, look at, and read. Think of it as a taste of things to come.

All the money we make we plan on reinvesting right back into this project. So yes, if you like the book and would love to see more of what we have, feel free to send us money : ) Subscribe to our blog, get on our mailing list, and we will keep you posted as things develop.

Happy trails,
JP
