Lift your head and look around…is something I continually have to keep telling myself. Sometimes when you’re deep in thought, lost in the tangle of ideas in your own mind, it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture of life. The blinders go up and tunnel vision takes hold, suddenly you lose sight of the forest you are trudging through until rent comes due. Seeing the forest for the trees is easier said than done. It’s so easy to get lost; lost in the beauty, lost in the shade of the trees or the detail of the forest floor. You sometimes forget how or why you ended up here. Keeping your eye’s up, looking around every now and again is helpful. It helps you keep your bearings, it helps mitigate the chances of getting lost, it prevents you from forgetting; forgetting why you are here and where you are going.
